Create Aesthetic Designs With the Sky Replacer
The Sky Replacer uses AI to isolate your subject and replace the existing sky with a new one of your choice. You can choose from a host of stock images and edit the colors to perfectly match your desired aesthetic, or even upload your own sky to use. Once you’ve replaced the sky, you can use your newly edited photo as a launchpad for your graphic design. Here we’ll show you how easy it is to use the Sky Replacer using an Instagram story ad.
Step 1: Upload Your Photo
Open up the Graphic Designer. Start with a template or create a new canvas from a photo by clicking Open. If choosing a template, head to the Image Manager to add your sky photo or drag and drop it straight from your desktop. No matter what you pick, ensure that it already includes plenty of sky, with a clear subject in the foreground such as a dynamic portrait, a scenic mountain, or an architecturally interesting building.
Click on your image and select Edit Photo to access the in-platform Photo Editor. You’ll find the Sky Replacer in the Edit tab.
Once you click on the Sky Replacer, it will instantly evaluate the image and identify all the areas that include sky. Click Change Sky to begin your edits.
Step 2: Replace the Original Sky
Now you have the option to either edit the existing sky or replace it entirely by choosing Select Sky.
This photo has great contrast and composition, but the gray sky is lackluster. Replacing it with a warm, stunning sunset makes for a perfect final sales announcement. Note that if you don’t find a preset sky that suits your design, you can always upload your own.
In real life, the color of the sky bounces off the ground and hits the subject. To digitally compensate, the AI Sky Replacer will automatically edit your foreground lighting, too. Click on the Settings icon and use the Color and Adjust tabs to tweak the intensity of the sky, the colors in the foreground, the edges between the new sky and old, and more.
Once you’re done, just return to the first Sky Replacer screen and click Apply for the changes to take effect, then click Done Editing at the top of the canvas to return to the Graphic Designer.
Step 3: Add/Edit Design Elements
Now that you’re back in the Graphic Designer, it’s time to use the Text and Graphics tabs to transform this project from a simple photo to an attention-grabbing Instagram ad. If you're working with a template, you can adjust the pre-existing elements and add anything else your design may need!
Step 4: Save Your Design
Once you’re satisfied with your design, simply Save as a high-quality PNG for the best digital resolution.
