Step 2: Choose and Customize Your Drawing Effect

We've chosen to use our advanced Pen Art GFX effect, found in the Pen Art category, to transform this dashing photo of our doggo into a classic ballpoint pen drawing. Use the slider to adjust how much of the effect is applied.

If you're happy with it as-is, click on the checkmark. But we've got a few more edits to make!

You can selectively apply this effect by clicking on the Select tab. Apply the effect without disrupting your background by selecting Foreground from the Apply To dropdown. You can also apply the effect with more control by using the brush tool.

Step 3: Save Your Pup Pen Art Drawing

Lastly, select Save at the top of your canvas. Choose your preferred location, and you're done! We suggest saving it as a PDF and choosing Print Quality for printing and framing or gifting.

Cross Hatch DLX

Cross-hatching is a method of line drawing. The whitespace of the canvas is used to represent light, while shadows are created by using patterns of crossed lines. If you want to add some depth and dimension to your pet portrait, try Cross Hatch DLX from our Digital Art collection.
