How to Your Text Into a Custom Mug Design Online
First, open up a blank canvas in the Graphic Designer. A 1:1 ratio is perfect for most custom mugs. Before adding text, make sure to change the canvas background transparent in the Customize tab.
Step 1: Add Text and Customize Design
Add your custom quote, word, or funny quip using the Text Editor. Here you can choose from hundreds of free fonts as well as preset typographic combinations. Check out this article for more font pairing ideas.
Click on any text box to change the color or typeface, and to add effects like an outline, highlight, shadow, glow, or curve. Here we’re using a drop shadow with the blur turned off to add more depth to the top text, glow on the bottom text, and curves for a fun, eye-catching design.
Optionally, upload a photo or add a hand-drawn vector graphic in the Graphics tab to add more visual interest to the design.
Step 2: Print Your Custom Mug
Now that this basic text has been turned into a head-turning coffee mug design, it’s time to print the actual mug! Click Save to export the design as a PNG and have it printed through an online or local channel of your choice – or, for the ultimate convenience, send it directly to Zazzle, our integrated online printing partner. Simply click Print Products in the Save menu.
