If you’re in the real estate biz, there’s no doubt you understand just how important direct mail is for your marketing strategy. Forget hand-written letters though; we’re talking about those humble postcards, which may be small, but pack a mighty powerful punch. You see, over half of Americans say they find postcards to be useful, but here’s where it gets really good: up to 90% of direct mail gets viewed, compared to only 20-30% of emails, while the response rate for direct mail is up to nine times higher than that of email.
Now, unless your marketing materials are being seen and engaged with, you’re probably not going to be selling houses, so how do you create eye-catching postcards when you’re already low on spare time? Thankfully, BeFunky's Graphic Designer has the perfect real estate postcard templates (front and back!) that can be quickly and easily customized within just a few clicks. Sold!
Types of Real Estate Postcards
If you’ve never ventured into real estate postcards before, you might be wondering what type of marketing content you can put on them. There are three main types of real estate postcards you can send to your target audience, all of which we’ve got tons of templates for in our Graphic Designer.
One of the first steps in successfully selling a home is to attract as many viewers to the open house as possible. In order to do this, however, you need to effectively market the upcoming open house so every potential buyer knows about when it is.
Our open house postcard templates contain plenty of room to highlight all of the important details, while still providing lots of space for eye-catching photos that showcase the property in all of its glory.
Update your potential clients about the latest and greatest properties that you’ve just listed for sale. There’s no doubt potential buyers are keeping their eyes out for the perfect property and are ready to strike as soon as they spot one they love.
Our real estate postcard templates also contain eye-catching designs containing sections which are perfect for you to list your details so interested buyers can follow-up.
Offer a glimpse into properties that have just sold in the neighborhood, as this will peak your potential buyer’s interest of putting their own house on the market. When they do decide to sell, they'll have a tangible reminder of who to call.
Our Graphic Designer features lots of real estate postcard templates that are more visual, rather than text, based, letting you highlight aspects of the upcoming property that viewers will love the most.

How to Use the Real Estate Postcard Maker in BeFunky
Ready to create a rockin’ real estate postcard to showcase an upcoming open house, offer a sneak peek of a new property, or feature a home that has been recently listed? Head to BeFunky’s Graphic Designer to get started! In the Start a Design menu that appears, simply type Real Estate Postcards into the search bar to see all of the real estate postcard layouts. To view all of the postcard layouts available, you can expand the Business Marketing category in the menu on the left and click on Postcards.
From here, select a real estate postcard template that takes your fancy. Later, we’ll be editing the back version of the template, so for now, let’s just concentrate on the front of our postcard. Hit Use This Template to begin editing.
First up, we’re going to swap out the template’s existing photos for one representing the property we wish to market. To do this, you can click on an image in your template and select the Replace button from the Image Properties menu that appears. This will allow you to replace the existing image with one from your Computer.
Alternatively, you can click on the Image Manager tab (the top icon) in the menu on the left and upload all the photos you'll be using in your design. Once uploaded, the images will appear as thumbnails that you can drag-and-drop over the existing images in the template to replace them.
Next, it’s time to edit the existing text on the template to reflect your own details. Simply double-click on a text box and begin typing whatever you want it to say. When you click on a text box, a Text Properties toolbar appears. You can use it to easily adjust elements such as the Font, Size, Text Color, Spacing, and more.
You can also change the Background Color of your text box by clicking on the corresponding color swatch and choosing a color from the Color Palette, typing in the color’s specific HEX Code, or using the Eyedropper Tool to select a color already present in your design.
Want to change the background color of your entire template? Navigate to Customize in the main menu on the left and select a color swatch of your choosing. Similarly, you can click on the first color swatch (the one with the dropdown arrow) to open the Color Chart, type in the color’s specific HEX Code, or use the Eyedropper Tool. You can also use the Resize Template button in the Customize tab to change the dimensions of your postcard, just in case you need a specific size.
Once you’re happy with your real estate postcard design, it’s time to save it. Click on Save at the top of the screen, followed by Computer.
We recommend saving your postcard as a PDF file in Print quality, since it's the file format preferred by most printing companies and will save your postcard in the highest quality for printing.
To design the back of your real estate postcard, open the Templates tab in the main menu on the left and select the Search Templates button.
This will bring you back to the Start a Design menu where you can locate the matching real estate postcard template counterpart. When you find it (it should be right next to the front template design), click on it and select the Use This Template button.
Next, click on any images you wish to swap out on your template. From the Image Properties toolbar, click Replace, then upload the desired image from your Computer. Alternatively, you can navigate to the Image Manager and drag-and-drop an image you've uploaded there.
Then, swap out any existing text for text that represents your own details. To do this, double-click the text box and type what you wish for it to say. Use the Text Properties menu to match any fonts and colors you used on the front of your postcard.
Next up, we’re going to change the color of the graphics on our template to suit the branding color scheme we used for the front template. Click on the graphic you wish to edit, then from the Graphic Properties toolbar, click on the color swatch next to Color Overlay. From here, you can choose a color from the Color Chart, type in the color’s specific HEX Code, or use the Eyedropper Tool. Since we're matching the color from the front template design, it's best to grab the HEX color code to ensure you have the exact same color on the back of the postcard.
From here, all that’s left to do is save your back design so it’s ready to print out! Click Save at the top of the screen, followed by Computer > PDF > Print.
Want to use these templates and branding for your future real estate postcards? You can also use the Save As Project feature to save them as an editable BeFunky file for future editing. That way, all you have to do is swap out the home address and photos each time you need to create a new postcard!
There's no need to hire a graphic designer when you have the perfect customizable real estate postcard templates for your business. All that's left to do is print out all the copies you need using your printing source of choice!
