Are you a fan of Joan Jett, one of the founders of the all-girl teenage rock band The Runaways? Here is someone you’re going to envy: Michael Nichols. He started Joan Jett’s fan club at 1985 and became friends with her over the years. He has seen her in concerts 143 times during the time.
- I know that sounds crazy, but she tours constantly and that number is since 1982, so that’s almost 30 years.
See those photos? Now I feel real cool because “I know someone who knows someone famous” :)
Now Michael is the proud owner of Music Atlanta Entertainment, Atlanta’s 5-Star Kudzu-Rated DJ/Photography service and he is a Segment Coordinator with In-House Productions, an entertainment television production company.

It is such an honor to be featured as a Case Study at BeFunky! This has been my favorite site for a long time now. Having grown up with Mike, from the age of 8 through high school, I was able to see his progression into his love for Joan Jett. I remember us liking Michael Jackson, then all of a sudden. bam. New idol, and that was of course Joan Jett. I recently found Mike on facebook, and I can honestly say, he one of the very few people that I have rediscovered on Facebook, who has not changed, stand by his guns, and has not let mainstream media and marketing change his point of view. Mike’s designs are beautiful, and his talent is never-ending. Keep up the good work! Your bud, Jamie

I have to say that it is very cool to see a fellow Jetthead get featured in something like this. I have “met” Mike through our love for Joan Jett. His art has always amazed me…and his willingness to share his creations with all of us is always appreciated. Keep up the good work Mike! I’m sure Joan would appreciate the labor of love :)

I met Mike in 1985 when I moved to his hometown our freshman year in high school. He has always been this unique artistic individual with a flair for life and a love for Joan Jett!!!! He was never a part of the mainstream and never did he flinch if he were called out on it. He is an awesome person and I am honored to know him. He has a true passion for music. His talent with photographs and his marketing abilities are phenominal!!!! Keep up the great work Mike and know that we all love you here in your hometown. Melanie

OK OK … This is a comment from Michael’s mother. Michael has always had the ability to freeze you in your tracks with whatever talent he was displaying.. whether it was piano, drums, singing or acting. This is another of Michael’s talents. He can take something ordinary and make is special.. whether it be a song, a picture, or an event. I am proud to be Michael’s mother and proud of the person he is.

What would I do without your undying support? You have always been there. You arranged my first meeting with Joan 25 years ago (nothing would stop her, not even the fact that I was 15 years old and the concert was in a bar) and It has been nonstop since.
